The battle of the cowards

Yesterday I played a game of Capture and Protect against my regular opponent.
After 5 rolls were first we both rolled 18 and then we both rolled 13 and crittet, Yu Jing finally won the dice roll  and elects to go first. He deployed his 10 order list first in an even spread across the deployment zone. The Nomads then deployed their 16 Order list with everyone prone.

The Beacons are located inside the left house and ontop of the right one.
 
 YU JING TURN 1
An impetous monk starts the Yu Jing turn by running up. Next up a Lú Duān shimmis across the no mans land and   lures out all the koala from the Lunokhod and Moran. It then proceeds and shots the Moran disabling its repeater but it ends up getting isloated by a Bandit in the  process.Out a nowere a Tiger soldier drop in from the side and tries to spotlight an Alguacil but is out of range. He move up further to engage the Bandit and sucessfully immobilising it with a Carbonite.
 
 
NOMADS TURN 1
As noone has eyes on the Lú Duān it enters Holo state and two more remotes appear.
McMurrough jumps forward towards the monk and lands near the Lú Duān as he is getting shot by a Hyper Raid Magnetic Cannon, A Heavy flamer and a Spitfire while the monk drops a smoke grenade. McMurrough dodges it all. Señor Massacre and his Haris link of Jaguars move and drops a pile of eclipse grenades on McMurrugh. Mercenary dog warrior walks out to kill the Lú Duān but exits the Eclips and takes a spitfire and a HRMC to the face and drops unconsious to the ground. Though he wrecks the remote with his Templar Close combat weapon.
A Tomcat Medic walks out from around back into the eclipse and heals McMurrough also achiving the Nomad classefied objective. The dog retreats in behind the saturation of the nearby cherry blossom.
On the other flank the Alguacil Link specualitve fires from it's light grenade launcher on the tiger soldier and drops him. An Intruder climbs down from his vantage point ontop a container and peaks out from behind the eclipse and downs the Rhu Shi, he then goes back up and sets up suppressinve fire.
 
 
YU JING TURN 2
A Guiláng moves forvard in camouflage stat and total cover into range of the downed Moran and drops a repeater. A Hac Tao Hacker drops out of thermo optical camouflage and spotlights the Moran and a Son-Bae all the way in the back drops a guided missile on him even though the Alguacil hacker trys to U-turn the missile. The blast kills the Moran and catches McMurrough who drops unconsious again.
The Guiláng moves over on to some crates and shoots at McMurrough with his combi rifle though McMurrough's armour stops both hits.
 
 
NOMADS TURN 2
Señor Massacre and his posse moves up and tries to drop some eclipse smoke but is having a hard time landing them but makes it eventually. The tomcat walks up and is unfortunatly killed by a precise HRMC shot. Señor Massacre moves up and shoots at the Guiláng who drops a camouflage token next to him as he falls dead to the ground . The Bandit hacker climbs down from the roof, then streaks across an allyway and climbes a new hose and ends up within hackingrange of the Yān Huǒ but doesn't manage to immobilise him. The Alguacil Link move up as far as they can on the right flank. To threaten the Yu Jing beacon with speculative fire.
 
 
YU JING TURN 3
A Guiláng reveals on the objective building and places a camouflage token on the first story balcony.
The Yān Huǒ lets lose with the HRMC at a Jaguar in the link with Señor Massacre, the Jaguar dies as he sets of a mine with his dodge. The good Señor however tanks the hit with his armour.
The Bandits hacks the Yān Huǒ in response with a carbonites and immobilizes it.
The Son-Bae walks around a corner emerging from it's hidingspoit and tries to shoot the Intruder but ends up getting down itself.
The Hac Tao advances and shoots at the Intruder and two Alguacils with his multirifle. but ends up only getting hit himself but a Corregidor combi rifle twice and loosing a wound. He tries it again and takes out an alguacil but takes a crit from the Intruder heavy machinegun who drops him.
 
NOMADS TURN 3
The Alguacil link speculatives fires at the Guiláng next to the camouflage token but misses with three shots. WHile he dodges away from the token. They then try to wound the Yān Huǒ with a grenade but he shruggs it off. The Lunokhod runs across the field in a last ditch attempt to grab the beacon but manages to get isolated but the Guiláng hacker who the nomads had neglected to identify.
 
 
CONCLUSION
The game ending in a 4-4 tie as the nomads managed to get Experimental drog and the Yu jing got Telemetry while they both retained control of their respective beacons.
The game was fun and tense but a bit monotonous and to be honest, cowardly. I need to step up my game in terms of aggression and i know we both need to play faster.
 
I have another game scheduled for Sunday were the nobel Nomads will have to fend of the dastardly Panoceania piloted by the Muffinman.
 
 
 

Battle for Örebro2, Part 1

April 7 is the date for the upcoming tournament i am attending. It is a three missions during one day event. I was thinking i would write up a short resume of what I went through to figure out my lists for the event. For this tournament i will most likely stick with Corregidor as Tunguska hasn't released yet.
First of all i will go through the missions, lets start with unmasking as that is a new and very interesting mission if you ask me.
 
UNMASKING
 
Unmasking is a mission were you have three consoles along the centerline. One console in the middle and one to each side 12" from the center and 12" from the board edge. Hackers have a +3 to activate the consoloes. Apart from the consoles you each deploy three HVTs following the normal restrictions of haveing them put 4" beyond the deployment zone. Then you secretly designate one of them as your designated target.
The goal is to activate a console, reveal guess one of the opponents HVT and when the right target is revelade eliminate the designated target. Unmasking doesn't use classified objectives at all.
 
 
For this mission I try to bring infiltrating hackers in the form of Bandits and then some other element with decent move or infiltration like Moran Masai or the Stempler Zond. Another aspect i look at is the climbing plus of the tomcat specialists for manourverbility. They also make decent datatrackers. Other possible data trackers are models with Speculative fire or abilitys like super jump or climbing plus for getting to the designated targets.
 
SUPPLIES 
As in Unmasking, Supllies have three objectives across the center of the board. Though this time they are tech-coffins containing supplies. Once you extract the supplies the coffins is removed. For this mission doctors and paramedics have the +3 to interact with the coffins. In this mission you have two classified objectives and there are no deployment restrictions. The goal of this mission is to get more supplies than the opponent and protect them as you complete classified objectives.
 
 
So for this mission doctors and paramedics are advantaged in interacting with the objectives but we are severly limited in infiltrating doctor/paramedic profiles, we have none of those. The closest we come are hellcat combat jumping paramedics, or airborne infiltrating Tomcats. Both would be good but for this mission i am not going overboard sowon't bring more than a tomcat doctor since he is already really good at mobility aswell as the mission. He is also really handy for classified and for healing other important troops.
Apart from that i try and bring a hacker. I would like to bring an engineer but i will just have to dodge that classified as he brings almost nothing to the rest of the missions or troops like the hackers and doctor. Though if i can i would bring a Lunokhod for two reasons, it brings D-charges for classified and it brings crazy koalas and heavy flamers for protecting the supplies once they are in our possession. It also brings alot of mobility for running avay with the supplies even though it can't be the once to extract them from the coffins.
 
CAPTURE AND PROTECT
For this mission there is only one scenary objective on the board. A beacon located in the center of the deployment edge for both players. For this mission there is one classified objective but you need to dicard anyone that requires a HVT as that rules isn't used. The goal in this mission it to run across the board and grab the opponents beacon and preferbly bring it back to your own deployment and hold it. If you can hold it with your Data Tracker then even better. You also gain points for protecting your own beacon. This doesn't necessary mean that the opponent can't take it, you just need to make sure they don't hold it at the end of the game. Pay attention to the mission here.
 
For this mission i would bring smoke and some kind of fast mover. Taking into concideration hackers protecting the opponent beacon i would prefer a model that can move fast and that isn't hackable. McMurough and a Señor Massacre link is my first go to for this, also Lupe Balboa in a Alguacil link can makes this work.
For protecting the my own beacon i like Lunokhods and Morans masais with their koalas and a hacker or two for hacking who ever tries to get to my beacon. Adhesive Launchers are also good at this as you can prevent opposing models from moving all together. As are mines for obvious reasons.
 
SUMMARY
All in all there are a few profiles that stick out to me if i try and bring one list to manage them all. And i think i can do that. As i have some problems with Vanilla Aleph and other factions with alot of TO/ODD/Mimetism/Camo i will try and make an offlist that is ok in the mission part and brings more tools to help with the troublesome opponents.
So Bandit Hackers, Moran Masai, Tomcat Doctors, Lunokhods, McMurough and Señor Massacre will form the core of my list. Around that i need models that can hurt the opponent or stop them from completeing the missions. I never leave home without an Intruder and this won't be the first time i do so one of those are in. An alguacile Link is really good both as cheerleaders for my worker pieces and they can do work themselves if needed to. Especially if they bring a specialist of two.
 
This will be it for today. Next post will likely be a more in depth look at my two lists. Lets just hope not to many of my opponents reads this.

Tunguska

With the confirmation of Tunguska being the next Sectorial army for Infinity I couldn’t be happier.
When i started Infinity i went with Haqqislam as i liked the Arabic look of the models and the kind of guerilla feel of them. Though as i went along learning more about the rules i fell more and more in love with Nomads and their profiles with Hackingdevive plus in perticular.
What made the deal was the renders and concept art for the new Szalamandra. She was gorgeous and there was no way i wouldn’t play her.
So with the new Sectorial being Tunguska i dove right in and continued my painting of the Tunguska profiles, starting with my one true love, Szally.
So far this is were is am at.

Next i wanted to talk some about the new profiles for Tunguska as we are getting a new and shine Sectorial starter box.

We had heard before that there was a profile called "Hollowmen" but nothing more. When i first heard that my mind instantly though of the Unidrons for Combine Army. With the "brain in a jar" Carlos mentioned i am even more Combine that they are small bases models with Remote presence and structure instead of wounds.

After this we are getting a new Unit calles Hecklers with a hacker profile in the Sectorial starter. We no almost nothing about these figures more than is in this picture but for me that is enough. A profile other than Taskmasters with a Red Fury is intriguing to me. And to top that out it seems they have assault pistols aswell. I have to say i am really looking forward to seeing this profile.

Next in line are the Grenzers. A profile that has had my interest for a while even though i think most of the profiles are a bit expensive. The profile that does stick out to me as already being quite good is the Forwrd Observer and sensor one. At 27 points it isn’t cheap but i can see alot of work coming from this one. Even though this one has me looking at it already i am hoping for a revision of the profiles. And Bostria hinted that this one had been waiting for a Fireteam since the launch of Ice Storm, has me wondering what kind. Haris? Core? Or maybe a special Fireteam were he can join Securitate or maybe others?!

No Sectorial is complete without line infantry and apparently Tunguska is no different, though these once seem to be on the expensive side if nothing dramatic happens to the profile. The new models don’t make me jump with exitment but they do look good.

Then for favourite model in Tunguska, the Kriza Borac. Which really made me Happy. Even though i like the profiles we have the two pictures of the Kriza hints at two new once. Missile launcher one and a spitfire one. Full auto with a Missile launcher, yes please. And a burst 5 Spitfire doesn’t sound bad either. These i can’t wait to see in June when the Sectorial launches.

The Unmasking of Yu Jing

 I had a battle yesterday against Yu jing with my Jurisdictional command of Corregidor. We played Unsmasking in preparation of a upcoming tournament. The mission we played was unmasking were you are supposed to activate the consoles down the center line to reveal the high value targets to learn which one is the designated target. To score a perfect game you need to protect your data tracker and the high value target while hunting down the enemy targets. The mission have a exclusion zone 8 inches from the center line protecting the consoles from early manipulation. Unfortunally the map from the Unmasking document doesnt show the exclusion zone.
 
 
 
Yu Jing won the Lieutenants roll of and elected to go first and Corregidor chose side and forced the Yu Jing to deploy first.
 
TURN 1 YU JUNG
The Yu Jing started with haveing their Heavy Infantry Yan Huo obliterate the corregidor Reactive threats with his Hyper Rapid Magnetic Cannon killing the Alguacil Missile Launcher and Lupe Balboa with ease. The YJ advanced up out of sight from the Corregidor and set up position with suppressive fire with the heavy infantry and remotes across the field. YJ also primed a couple of mines to defend their High value targets. While priming the battle field one of the Guilang is ambushed by a nearby Bandit but manages to avid getting glued to the ground.
A ninja emerged from camouflage and hacked the centre concole to reveal the correct designated target the with the first try setting the Corregidor on the back foot right fram the start.
 
TURN 1 CORREGIDOR
McMurrough started of the Corregidor turn by jumping over a container throwing a smoke grenade as he wen. Shrugging of a total reaction remote, a supressive fire heavy machinegun and landing just short of the shrappnel from a chain rifle. He proceded to force the ninja out of camouflage with a infuitive attack from his chain rifle not managing to down the enemy. He then threw more smoke and engaged the ninja and shrugging of the return attack. The Corregidor forces reveald their main ace in their Heavy machinegun Intruder who forced both the Yan Huo and Hac tao into cover with shots through the smoke, not being able to kill either of them,
A Moran Masai and his Koalas move forward, setting up a defensive perimiter with the Intruder from a high vantage point covering the center of the table.
 
TURN 2 YU JING
The impetous monk seeing his chanse hurried into combat with McMurrough managing to land a blow to the mercenary dog warrior. Though the monk took a hail of bullets on the approach and falls to the fire.
Seeing the dog warrior as a threat to the Yu Jing the Yan Huo open fire into the engagement between McMurrough and the Ninja, starting by felling the ninja and then proceeding  then the drop the Mercenary in a burts of critical hits needing 14 to hit.
 
 
The commander of the Yu Jing forces, having grown tired of the machinegun fire from the intruder spends a good portion of his orders firing across the center killbox finally managing to wound the Corregidor Elite but not quite kill him as he falls unconsious behing the railing. The Yaokong manages to kill the bandit on the left flank with his heavy machinegun.
 
TURN 2 CORREGIDOR
Señor Massacre and his Jaguars advance and puts out a smokescreen for the Tomcat Doctor who urges his Zondcat forward to medicate the unconsious Intruder who then stands back up behind the smoke and manages to gun down the Hac Tao Datatracker ensuring the Yu Jing forces will start their final turn in loss of lieutenant.
The Masai advanced down the ladder towards the center realeaving a decoy from the Yu Jing side.
A bandit emerges on the right flank trying to glue the Yan Huo but fails in his attempt.
The Intruder once again suppresses the center killbox with his heavy machinegun before ending the Corregidor turn.
 
TURN 3 YU JING
The Yu Jing forces now start their final turn in loss of lieutenat haveing to do some serious thinking of how to salvage the situation. The Yaokong advances into line of fire to the designated target taking fire from the Intruder heavy machinegun and provoking dodges from the jaguar panzerfaust and the designated target. The remote manages to wound the Jaguar and the Designated target but itself falls to the heavy fire from the intruder. The other Yu jing remote advances and kills of the zondcat serving the Tomcat doctor to try and hamper his ability to heal the designated target later on. The Hyper Rapid Magnetic Cannon of the Yan Huo obliterates the Bandit, thus securing noone would activate the right most concole.
 
TURN 3 CORREGIDOR
Señor massacre and the remaining jaguar advane and try to drop an eclipse cloud blocking the Yan Huo from seeing the path were the Tomcat needs to go. The superior weaponry of the Yu Jing dropping the mercenary forcing the Corregidor to rethink their plans. The lone jaguar aim his chain rifle at decoy who in true martial arts style manages to dodge it two times while the Yan Huo kills the poor jaguar.
The tomcat then walks the long way around from the right most flank towards the center through the back lines to get to the designated target. He manages to stop just short, dodging a mine but he aswell falling to the Hyper Rapid Magnetic Cannon. With the final order the Intruder sidesteps into sight of the decoy and mows it down with his heavy machinegun.
 
CONCLUSION
The game ended in a 4-4 draw as the Yu Jing got 3 points for killing the designated target and 1 for having their designated target alive at the end of the game. The Corregidor scored 2 from having more activated concoles, 1 from killing more decoys and 1 from having their datatracker alive at the end of the game.
 
During the game we plyed as if you can heal the designated target which we later found out you can't. This would have changed the play of the final turn for both armies but i don't think it would have changed the outcome of the game. I am looking forward to the tournament and trying this list again. I feel like it perfermoed like i expetcted it to and won't make any major changes to it for future games. A tweak here and there might end up sneaking in. So i will try to ressurect this old blogg for my new infatuation in miniature games. Infinity!
From now on i will try and publish pictures of my two armies and battle reports of the games i play and tournaments i attend.
